hi all ,
i have been asked why i am billing 25 mod on claims with VNG, Epley and CT's , i am told there is a rule stating you dont have to use 25 mod on claims with testing

i am unaware of this can anyone give some insight

thank you

Mod. 25 is an E/M modifier. Significant, Separately Identifiable Evaluation and Management Service by the Same Physician on the Same Day of the Procedure or Other Service.

yes that is what i was taught but i am now being told by my supervisor that it is not required on the visits with the above tests ..and i should not be using it

You can check the specific CPT codes for each test and see if their is a guidline which states whether the specific test is bundled with the E/M. If not then you can code them by appending mod. 25 to the E/M code for a physician. However, audiologists and PT do not report E/M.
