Doctor did a nasal fracture repair (21335), nasal valve reconstruction w/graft (30465) and radiofrequency reduction of inferior turbinates (30802).

Our off-site coding agency did not code 30802 and when a review was requested the response was 30140-52 bundles into 21335. The op report, however, clearly indicates that the procedure was a RF reduction and CPT Assistant March 2008 states that 30802 is to be used for this procedure. 30802 does not bundle into 21335 or 30465.

I'd appreciate input on this one. Thanks.

I agree with you that 30802 should have been used. I would copy and paste the CPT asst to you offsite agency so that they are aware of the correct way to code for the RF.
