Wiki Need help with a finger sx result of an injury

Pt had an injury to finger - does not tell me what - just trauma to ulnar digital nerve

He was performing a 64831 and 64890 ( now Ive got it

but when he started and got to point of injury he had to remove foreign bodies ...do I code that as well ?

What code would I use ?
Can I code it with 64831 and 64890 since he was doing the repair surgery anyway ??

I think I would query the doctor for the type of injury.

This could possibly be a debridement of a fracture (11011-11012)that is unmentioned.
If not a fracture, then I would look at the 11040-11044 codes for debridement.

There are really too many "IFS" for your scenario to give you a straight answer.
