Neurlogist refers patient (with Medicare) to a Neurophthamologist in the same clinic for an optic problem. I know the latter can charge a New pt visit however if both Providers have coded the same optic diagnosis code primary does that cancel out the new E&M level and force the latter to code established? Please help. :confused:
