A patient comes into a neurology clinic after testing done for symptoms of HA and vision complaints. At f/u visit pt has no complaints and no symptoms, doctor discharges pt with only survailance. What icd-9 code would you use if pt is no longer having ha, no is the doctor treating them with anything?

I would use the headache and vision diagnosis codes used on the first visit. The doctor had to follow up, so he was still treating those conditions.

I would have to strongly disagree w/ using dx that aren't there. I would go w/ V12.49 personal history of disorders of the nervous system and sense organs.
