Hi, if a patient is in observation their first day at the hospital, is then rolled over into inpatient status the next day, and is finally discharged the third day - what cpt codes would be appropriate for this? I used the 99218-99220 series for the first day, and a subsequent visit for the next day, but am not sure about the discharge. Since the patient was admitted, would I just use the 99238-9 series? Thanks in advance.
