The office I work for we do a few in house labs. But most are sent out. The lab does not bill the insurance, as we pay the lab. This is to keep the pt from getting a bill.we are a non profit and if the ins doesn’t pay we do not pass along the bill to pt.my question is do we have to apply the 90 mod to the charge and a few boxes on the claim? I can’t find much info and what I do find is conflicting. Some say we can’t bill for labs at all or we can w 90 but labs keep getting denied w the 90.
