Good morning,
I am trying to figure out what diagnosis code I should use for a plantar fascia rupture. This was not an injury, but more of a spontaneous rupture while walking. Everything I see is more for muscle or tendon, but since the fascia is a ligament this doesn't seem right. I considered S93.69__, but since this is an S code I do not want to imply this was an accident. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this one? I tried to see if there is a foot ligament repair CPT and look at the crosscodes, but that doesn't exist either apparently, go figure. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!
