Wiki Preg Test before office procedure

Hi all,

We do a pregnancy test in our office before doing certain office procedures, such as a LEEP. I have been using 84703 for the Urine pregnancy test and Z32.02 encounter for pregnancy test negative, as the diagnosis. However, these are not being paid.

It is essential that we do the test prior to the procedure because of course we need to make sure that the patient is not pregnant. Is there a better code combination for this? Am I using the best diagnosis code?

Would appreciate feedback.

Did you ever get an answer to this? My provider bills 84703 and Z32.02 as well and is not getting paid.
