I am getting a lot of denials for the injection (20610) because of the diagnosis we are using. Per the LCD guidelines (L33767) the only codes that we can use is M17-0 through M17.9 (osteoarthritis of knee). We inject other major joints other than the knee and I would like to know what other diagnosis codes can be used or where I can find this information Can you please help!!
 
What is the drug you are injecting? I would look for a guideline based on the Jcode you are using. It looks like the LCD you are looking at is for Viscosupplement. There is no LCD, at leave with First Coast, for general injections using 20610.
