Can you add a prolong code with the discharge code 99239 if you doctor spends over two hours on a discharge?

I would say no, the CPT description says "more than 30 minutes". It doesn't indicate anything other than that so my thought is that anything over that is inclusive.

Anna is correct in her reasoning. Any amount of time, as long as it is over 30 minutes is coded with 99239.
