We typically use the 99455 rating code for our patients. One of our patients has an out of state California workers comp case. And the rating, ( as well has the nurse case manager conference 99366 ), are getting denied.

We were told to re-bill with CA RVS codes ? And that those codes we used are not valid in the state of CA...

Should we just bill an office visit ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I found this: "The OMFS does not recognize the CPT codes for disability examinations (CPT 99455 and 99456). Instead, allowances are established through the E&M visit codes with a -17 modifier or the medical-legal procedure codes."
