For RNS (repetitive nerve stimulation) 95937 procedure supports with medical necessity along which ICD 10 code?
Because, this procedure is getting denied for not supporting with the diagnosis code. Experts please help me out
with this issue? I have submitted this Dx code for RNS G62.9. It's not supporting though.
 
That would depend on your payer's policy, so without knowing who's denying it, we can't be of much help. In any case, you can only submit the code that's supported in your documentation for the procedure, so you're limited to what's in the record regardless of who the payer is.
 
I agree with Thomas' answer 100%. The other thing to keep in mind is that G62.9 is an "unspecified" code. Now you might be stuck using that, but you might also query the provider and find out if a more specific diagnosis can be documented. A more specific diagnosis may help.
