We are looking at 27087. Surgeon removed 2 small pieces of mesh that had created a painful inguinal groin mass. Our question is, this was done laparoscopically and 27087 does not state whether it is open or laparoscopic. It is a medicare patient. Do you think we would be ok with this code? Thanks for your help. Jan

I dont think so Jan, the 27087 lay description does state "incision". This is an open code. I believe that you will be stuck with the unlisted lap code.
