Hi

Really confused with picking up ICD code for SCC of larynx - what will be the ICD for Squamous cell laryngeal Carcinoma??? whether C44.82 or C32.9

SCC is a skin cancer so I had gone through the Neoplasm table - skin -- couldn't find the mentioned (larynx) anatomical site then I gone for specified site under Specified sites able to find classifications like BCC, specified type NEC, SCC -- SCC leads for the code C44.82. Its my answer.

C44.82 Is this exact answer or C32.9 ???

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

SCC larynx

C32.9 would be assigned from the limited information I am reading. It doesn't state skin over larynx. It states SCC of the larynx and without the actual pathology report to review this would be my diagnosis code. SCC isn't just about dealing with skin cancer; I see it associated with other organs too such as bladder, lung, esophagus and cervix just to name a few.
Hopefully this helps,
