I have a report dictated as a screening mammogram - male - left breast. What diagnosis code would we use for this? We coded as Z12.31 but this was returned from the insurance company stating gender inconsistency. There was a history of breast cancer 2 years prior. Any help is appreciated
 
My understanding has always been that you can't do a screening mammogram on a male, it has to be diagnostic.
