Good Morning,

Can someone distinguish the difference between a Selective radial artery angiogram and a Non Selective one, and when would you do one over the other.

I seem to have the hardest time determining this.

Thanks in advance to you all..

Have a great day.

Selective means the catheter was advanced beyond the initial artery/venous access and/or aorta/vena cava.

Non-selective means catheter not advanced beyond initial access and aorta/vc.

The provider determines the access and furthest end point of catheter placement based on medical necessity (what is the problem, and how to best diagnose it).

HTH :)
