Hello, I’m second guessing myself today and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Right hand spasticity due to stroke-I was looking at I69.351 or I69.353.

I would like to add on to your question regarding "spasticity due to stroke."

I work in Pain Management & we do Botox for Spasticity. The providers notes may say; we will schedule Botox for spasticity. Or it may say chronic left arm pain and spasticity due to stroke. If we are doing Botox for Spasticity due to stroke, would these be the correct diagnosis codes used?

R25.2 Cramp and spasm
I69.398 - other sequela of cerebral infarction

Any information is super appreciated!!

yes. you are correct.

the notation under code I69.398 states 'use additional code to identify the sequelae'.
since the botox is being given for the spasticity, I would sequence the R25.2 first.
