Is there a more appropriate diagnosis code, other than v25.2, to use for an Essure procedure? We have been unable to get this procedure pre-authorized, because the insurance co states there should be a preventative diagnosis code that is more appropriate. Thank you.
 
v25.2 would be the dx I would use. Most payers are considering sterilization a preventative dx now. You could try appending the 33 modifier on the claim.
