Wiki theraputic injection96372 vs immunotherapy 95117

We recently have started billing for immunotherapy but all of my Dr."s are reporting the 96372, I am not sure if this is correct for allergy injections, however when I bill out the 95117 for 2 injections or the 95115 I keep getting denied. I believe could be because the Dx used was acute sinusitis unspecified 461.9. I would really like to receive some knowledge from the coders here that have way more experience then we do in this area. Thank you so much

Hi Stacy,

Your CPT codes sounds right, but the diagnosis certainly doesn't. A patient with acute sinusitis shouldn't be getting allergy injections. Whom ordered the allergy injections? If the order came from an allergist I would check their order as it should have the reason for need and, hopefully, the diagnosis is correct
