We recently have started billing for immunotherapy but all of my Dr."s are reporting the 96372, I am not sure if this is correct for allergy injections, however when I bill out the 95117 for 2 injections or the 95115 I keep getting denied. I believe could be because the Dx used was acute sinusitis unspecified 461.9. I would really like to receive some knowledge from the coders here that have way more experience then we do in this area. Thank you so much :)

Hi Stacy,

Your CPT codes sounds right, but the diagnosis certainly doesn't. A patient with acute sinusitis shouldn't be getting allergy injections. Whom ordered the allergy injections? If the order came from an allergist I would check their order as it should have the reason for need and, hopefully, the diagnosis is correct :)
