Hello,

I have a question regarding burns. I recently did a practice case with a diagnosis of 25% body surface area burns on face, posterior neck, trunk, bilateral upper extremities, hands, left foot and ankle. The total body surface area addressed was 15% which were third degree burns.

I answered for each body part:
T20.39A, T21.30A,T22.331A,T22.332A, T23.301A, T23.302A, T25.322A, T25.312A.
The answer ended up just being the code, T31.2 for "burn." I am wondering where I went wrong. Why do I only use that one code? It seems like I have coded for burns in a sequence before. Perhaps the rule of 9's is applied here?

If anyone could help jog my memory, that would be great. Thank you!
