Doctor removed hypertrophic tonsils and adenoids on a 4 year old patient using a Plasma Wand Procise XP which uses radiofrequency to remove the tonsils and adenoids. 42820 includes electrocautery, laser and cryogenics but not RF. Has anyone coded this procedure before and what code was used? Thanks.
 
I have to go along with NELANAZ on this one.
I was coding the DSAEK procedures (prior to 2009) as unlisted procedures because based on my research, these procedures are not the same as penetrating keratoplasties.
For 2009, two new CPTs were created for the DSAEK.
