Good Day,
patient has surgery performed by Neurosurgeon. Patient normally needs higher level of post-op care, so patient is assigned to the Trauma ICU. The Trauma doctors round on the patient and say they are managing the respiratory aspect as well as the medication. How do I begin to find a diagnosis code/s to support the medical necessity? I feel the neuro team to be responsible for all aspects of post op care, including ventilator managment. HELP!
