Hi.....

Medicaid denied LT \RT and 5O Modifier with radiological procedure for Missouri state .I have a doubt , whether we can use 59 modifier or XS modifier in place of 50 or RT\LT...

Any one make me clear on this. please .....

Thanks....

I would recommend looking up if they have a specific payer policy for the CPT codes you are billing. If you are unsuccessful in finding one contact the payer directly.

Hi stephanie..
Thanks for your immediate reply...

I have checked in Radiological bulletin in Medicaid MO website. But I could not find any points regarding this XS modifier usage..

I got one point in below medicaid website

https://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid-c...echnical-guidance-on-state-implementation.pdf

For radiologic procedures, other non-surgical diagnostic procedures, and durable medical
equipment that can be performed or used bilaterally, the MUE value is generally set as “2” to
permit the billing of bilateral procedures / items on a single claim line with two UOS

I have a doubt, whether we can try with 2 units on single line item...
