I have a physician's dx as "urosepsis", the thing is that I know this is a 'code to condition" dx code, the other dx listed are that of uti, infection from obstructed stone post stent insertion. This is an infusion patient, I was thinking it should be the pathway of the obstruction, but if sepsis is listed in the documentation, then of course that would take precedence over the others. Please let me know what you think, if any of you are experts in sepsis coding I would love to hear from you! Thank you so much in advance!

Here are some articles that help breakdown sepsis coding. Basically Urosepsis is not an acceptable diagnosis. Physicians should be queried for clarification.
