I am posting this for a co-worker, thanks for the help!

When a provider does a hepatitis injection, for Hep A vaccine, we use the 90632. (adult dosage) Occassionally the provider needs to use 4 vials. How are you/how would you bill for the injection of 4 vials?

Are you also billing the 90471 along with the 90632?

Vaccine Question

Use code 90632 for one dose regardless of the number of vials used.
Also use 90471 for the administration of one vaccine other than intranasal or oral to an adult. Only one vaccine being administered so units would be one
(1). Per CPT, codes 90465-90474 must be reported in addition to the vaccine and toxoid code(s) 90476-90749. If a significant, separately identifiable E&M service is performed, the appropriate E&M service code should be reported in addition to the vaccine and toxoid administration codes.

Thank you, we were thinking that you could only bill for one dose. So basically we will lose money, as we are not going to be reimbursed for the cost of the additional vials. Are running into this problem?
