Hello group, I have a phyisican that wants to bill an office charge 99213 with a venipuncture charge of 36415. The blood draw was done by ancillary staff in the office. Based on previous post and other resources, I am not sure this can be billed together. The phyisican wants something in writting stating that the blood draw is part of the E/M service. Can anyone direct me to a resource that states that, or give me a resource that states the CPT codes and be billed together.

Thanks

I did check CCI edits and there are no edits for these two codes together. I am still needing documentation to support or not support billing office visit codes 99212-99215 with 36415 (venipuncture).

Thanks for the responses I appreciate all the help.

Not sure what you are looking for

If you ran the codes through the CCI editor and did not get any results, shouldn't that be proof enough that at least for CMS, these can be billed together? Maybe print out the results and show this to whomever is looking for this proof? As you won't find LCD's on these procedures....
