Hello,
How do you explain why some products do not have HCPCS codes and where would you go to find this out?

Thank you

Hello,

You might want to talk to your supplier's. On some products the HCPCS code is listed on the packaging or your supplier will give you information that they received. There are times will not get that information. Also consider does it truly require a HCPCS code or is it just a supply that's already included in your primary procedure?
Your HCPCS are the billing codes used by Medicare and monitored by CMS, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. They are based on the CPT Codes (Current Procedural Technology codes) developed by the American Medical Association.
So with that little tid bit of information I've listed a link from CMS that may be helpful.

http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Coding/MedHCPCSGenInfo/HCPCS_Coding_Questions.html

You can send in your questions per this link and get a more detailed answer with a more detailed question to the primary source.

I hope this helps you.
