I was reviewing CRC questions (Medical Coding Pro - they seem to have mistakes in their book) and came across one that used Z23 twice (used for flu and pneumococcal vaccine). I was taught to not repeat an ICD-10-CM code. I do not see anything in the guidelines.

I found in the guidelines under Section I.B.12. Reporting Same Diagnosis Code More than Once "Each unique ICD-10-CM diagnosis code may be reported only once for an encounter."

I will inform Medical Coding Pro of their error.

You may report the dx code only once on the claim. However once it s reported it may be linked to any number of CPT/HCPC codes so if they list it only once then they may link it to the flu as well as to the pneumovax codes.
