Anesthesia CPT® Code range 00100- 01999

This code range includes anesthesia CPT® codes. The American Medical Association (AMA) maintains the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set.

The anesthesia CPT® codes list covers anesthesia services provided in conjunction with procedures on specific body areas such as the head, neck, spine and spinal cord, upper leg, or elbow. In some cases, a code listed under a body part grouping may be specific to a procedure, such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

There are also anesthesia billing codes for services related to radiological procedures, burn excisions or debridement, and obstetric procedures. At the end of the anesthesia procedure codes list, there is a group of “other” codes, covering services such as anesthesia for nerve blocks and daily hospital management of epidural continuous drug administration.

For unlisted anesthesia procedures, meaning those procedures or services that do not have a more specific and appropriate CPT® code available, the code set includes 01999.
