Good evening,

Can anyone tell me how the exams are going to be as of Jan 1? Will there still be the multiple choice or will the format of the exam change due to the implementation of ICD-10?

Format will not be changing. Only difference is ICD-10-CM codes in place of ICD-9. Of course like with every exam prior, it will be based on the codes for the year you are testing in so 2016 CPT book will be absolutely necessary. Luckily due to the years in flux there were code change freezes on ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM the DX books bought in 2015 will still be valid in 2016. PCS will be a little different since its technically a brand new code set and has not been locked down from changes like DX codes
