I work in a family practice setting in Washington State, and one of our providers did a pre-op consult for a patient where the referring provider doing the surgery is in Tijuana Mexico.
Since the referring provider is from Mexico, they don't have an NPI number currently with NPPES.
Are we able to still bill this out, or is the NPI strictly required? Provider is properly licensed and registered in Mexico.
Thank you!
