Wiki EGD Preoperative DX code

I'm coding in an ASC facility and the surgeon is using "suspected esophaeal reflux" as a preoperative DX which is not codable in an outpatient setting. There is a post-op DX and this is a non-Medicare patient. Does the preoperative DX need to be established or can I just use the post-op DX? Thanks.
