Can anyone help me with this? If a patient is being treated with Home Healthcare and the referring physician authorizes and or signs the Plan of Care but it is not filed to insurance and is not timely filing, can we A) still bill for denial or B) can we file for the re-certification even thought the certification was never billed? Any help is welcome

Thanks!

Bill the timely filing one and get the denial, so when you do bill the recert, at least Medicare knows you performed the original certification.

That's what I'd do. Hope this helps

Home Health Billing with the Department of Veteran Affairs

How long should the cert period be for the VA? Does it follow Medicare? There is nothing mentioned on the provider manual or anything I can find on there website. Thank you!
