My name is Nicholas Lock and I am located in Leola, Lancaster County, PA. I recently passed my certification exam in May 2026 after completing the Medical Coding Specialist Program at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) and am currently looking for a local or remote entry level coding or coding adjacent position that will allow me to gain experience in the field. My education has provided me with a solid foundation in ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS Level II code sets, as well as an understanding of coding guidelines and healthcare documentation requirements. Through my coursework and certification preparation, I developed a strong analytical mind, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex information.
Additionally, I bring a diverse professional background that has strengthened many of the skills essential to success as a medical coder. During my nine years at Guitar Center, I served as both a Lead Customer Service Associate and Operations Manager. I collaborated with other managers and associates to improve store processes, balanced multiple responsibilities simultaneously, ensured cash handling and inventory activities were free of errors, and consistently provided high-quality customer service. These experiences reinforced my organizational abilities, dependability, and dedication to precision. My time as a Veterinary Technician also exposed me to medical terminology and environments that demanded careful regard for patient needs, records, and support. Combined with my strong communication skills and proven ability to learn new systems and procedures, this has helped prepare me for a transition into the coding profession.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to grow as a medical coder and am confident that my strong work ethic, adaptability, thoroughness, and drive to continue learning will make me a valuable addition to any team. I would welcome the chance to discuss how my background and qualifications align with your needs.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
