I have a coding question for obstetrics. We are getting denials for dx code Z36.9 with the OB Cpt codes. Has anyone else had problems with denials for this diagnosis code?

z36.9 is an unspecified code. If you are performing the antenatal screening then the payers expect that the specific screening is documented and needs to be coded.
