Good evening all!
I'm posting my resume with the hopes of finding someone who is interested in being my mentor, has a paid or unpaid internship, or has any advice on finding the first job after passing the CPC.
Also, I'm looking to see if my experience and education has given me a leg-up in some specialty in healthcare admin/informatics, and what would you suggest?
I have about 8 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and medical device industries, from areas like compliance, manufacturing and process development, and oftentimes my position evolved into leadership roles. I have some experience working with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS II coding and EMR's while determining donor eligibility for organ/tissue donation.
I passed with a 90% on September 8th, and I passed my CPB earlier in the year. I took the AAPC prep courses and I'm working on Practicode, so I'll have the -A removed within a few months regardless, but I'd prefer to have some hands-on experience with coding, or anything in revenue cycle, perhaps compliance because my former career required a lot of regulatory knowledge (FDA, HIPAA, AATB and others).
I hope you'll take a moment to peek at my resume, and any advice from anyone is very welcome. I have professional references available from supervisors and coworkers alike, and I'd be happy to give those before a business relationship is formed.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
