I'm wondering if anyone is concerned about the future of coding and artificial intelligence. Is AAPC going to add any type of training? Certs? What does A.I. mean to you as a coder? Are you already using it as an aide?
Hello JennFrancis,
Please know, I was not trying to be rude in any manner; I really do work for an AI "Start-up Company" called CodaMetrix from Boston that tends to a few specialties. I tend to pathology as their SME (specialty medical expert in that specialty), and it will be 4 years in April 2026. I do not know what specialty you are in, but I can boil it down for pathology here. Machine learning predicts the diagnosis codes, the CPT codes and the stain codes and if Machine Learning is confident enough it will provide codes for automation here. I have a large, over two handfuls of pathology customers, I am tending to here with more on the way.
The AAPC HEALTHCON 2024; really covered this topic here in my opinion. Or maybe I am biased that I understood the content and simply agreed?
If you have questions, I absolutely want to help understand them and respond.
Have a great evening,
Dana
