Starting at the end of June 2013 Tricare stated they will no longer pay 96372 by itself. They state they would need the J code associated with the administration. These are drugs the patient brings in solely for injections. Has anyone tried billing the J code with a $0 charge to see if that will process?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

We do it all the time w/lots of insurance companies ( Medicare, Aetna, Cigna) w/no problems. :)

96372?

We have billed this before by itself, so strange that they would just start denying. Have you checked to see if a modifier would apply to your specific situation? Try billing the J-code with a $0 charge, don't think it would hurt the claim.
