An epidural was given during labor. Subsequently, it was determined that the patient would require a C-section for cephalopelvic disproportion because of obstructed labor. Assign the correct ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT anesthesia codes.

a. O65.4, 64479
b. O65.4, O33.0, 01961
c. O65.4, 01967, 01968
d. O65.4, O33.9, 01996, 0TSD0ZZ

This is just an example out of the CCA practice exam. How would I know when to use CPS codes in the real world without multiple choice?

The question says "Assign the correct ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT anesthesia codes."

Its a trick answer. D would be the wrong answer since ICD-10-PCS code is neither an ICD-10-CM code nor is it a CPT code. PCS would be on an inpatient Facility claim (UB-04). This seems to be asking about a physician bill (CMS-1500).

I guess trick was the wrong word. Its there to test to see if you can recognize the difference between an CM & PCS code. Well and to help you narrow down the answers so you have a 1 in 3 chance of guessing the correct answer
