Meet Codie™: See What AI Built for Medical Coding Can Do

Video

Coding questions have a way of showing up when the workload is already full. A single gray area can turn into a long research trail, another tab to open, or another question for a senior coder. Those interruptions slow coders down, create bottlenecks, and make consistency harder across a team.

Codie is the AI coding assistant built into Codify by AAPC. Coders can ask questions the way they would ask a colleague and get guidance grounded in proprietary content and expert-validated AAPC resources. That means AI is working inside the team’s existing workflow — helping reduce repeat research, ease routine escalations, and support more consistent coding across the team.

Hi everyone, thank you for joining us. We are going to begin today's webinar in about 1 minute.
Hello, everyone, to, hello to everyone that's, just kind of rolling in now. We're gonna give everyone just a few more seconds here so that, we can give everyone just…
All the time before we begin today's webinar.
Hi everyone, and welcome to today's webinar, Meet Cody. See what AI Built for Medical Coding Can Do.
My name is Johnny Sudicum, and I'm here with AAPC, and as is tradition, feel free to drop in the chat where you're joining us from today.
We're really appreciative, that you were able to take the time to join us to talk about Codify and Kodi and all these really exciting advancements that are coming to the platform.
As the name suggests, we're here to talk about the platform Codify, and also the new AI assistant Cody.
It just released about a few weeks ago. We've had some really great reception, awesome use cases that have come out of it.
And so for anyone that's not familiar with Coding, it's an AI assistant that lives directly within Codify, and it delivers
AAPC-backed guidance to you, your workflow or your team's workflows. And in today's demo, we're going to cover, a lot, but first, I thought it would be really helpful to introduce the problem that we set out to achieve with, Cody, and, you know, where we're headed.
So, first, there are 3 challenges that we're really addressing here.
First is that, coding rules are complex. Things like modifiers, NCCI edits, and includes and excludes notes, they all require, a lot of interpretation, not just keyword matching.
Second is generic AI isn't built for medical coding. It's great for general questions, but, you know, not these detailed or very nuanced questions. It can give you an answer with medical coding, but that doesn't mean that the answer is accurate or that you can really validate where it's coming from.
And finally, every coder needs a sounding board. Whether you're newer to medical coding and you need guidance, or you're experienced and want to validate a complex decision.
Having a second opinion, that's readily available, can really be an important factor.
And those are some of the gaps that we set out to fill, with Cody.
And so, you know, we're… we're really introduced… we're really excited to introduce you to Coding. It's available within Codify today, specifically the Pro Fee and Complete licenses.
And it's designed to be, a part of your workflow, so you can validate questions and get helpful guidance.
So let's talk about some of the things that, make Coding different at a high level.
First, it's authoritative. Coding is built on AAPC's expertise and trusted coding content, not just the open internet or Reddit, for example.
Second is that it's conversational.
You can interact with Cody the way that you would a senior coder. You can ask it a question, it'll provide context, or you can provide context, you can ask follow-up questions, and get an explanation of the why behind the questions and answers.
And third is that it's defensible. Coding provides citations backed by AAPC sources, so you can see where the answer comes from and validate it. So, authoritative, conversational, defensible, those are some of the things that really make Coding different from generic AI.
And so, a lot of today's going to be focused on the demo of Coding and how it works. So I'm really excited to introduce you to three experts that we have joining me today, who are going to provide a lot of insight into Codify and Kodi.
So, first is Courtney Stone. Courtney is the Director of Client Success and Implementation at AAPC.
She leads enterprise implementation strategy, client success initiatives, and sales support across AAPC's software solutions, which includes tools like Codify, PractCode, and more.
Next is Heather Haggerty. Heather is a coding and operations and provider performance leader with more than 15 years
of hands-on experience supporting multiple medical specialties. In her current role at AAPC, she partners closely with the product team and works daily with Codify users to help organizations maximize the platform's potential and improve coding and revenue cycle outcomes.
And last but not least is Trevor Nelson. Trevor is our group product manager at AAPC, who oversees Codify, Coding, and data files products. He is part of the leading force here that created Coding, so it's great to have him in the room as well.
To be able to, answer some of your more specific questions related to the product, the technology, and how it functions, which we'll have at the end of our webinar today.
So I'm really happy that all three of these people can join us today, and as a reminder, we're going to have some time for Q&A at the end of today's webinar, so I encourage you to use the questions module
To ask your questions, and there'll be a few of us in the background as well that will be typing out answers to any of those questions that are, you know, a bit easier to answer before we get to the Q&A section. So, with that, just again, thank you for joining us, and I'm going to hand it over to Heather Haggerty.
Hello, everyone! Gonna get started with a demonstration here, just wanted to pop on and say hi. I'm gonna go ahead and share my screen.
Alright.
Okay, and welcome to the Coding demonstration. First and foremost, Coding is integrated with our Codify platform. You'll see here I am in my Codify Complete license.
Coding is a new icon that'll be in the upper right-hand corner. If you haven't been into Codify in just a minute, or haven't seen any of our new updates, you might notice we've got a few small changes that I want to point out here as well. We have a newly
condensed banner bar here at the top, with all of our same code text drop-downs, and we have that new icon for Cody right here in the upper right-hand corner.
Cody is able to be,
to zoom in and out of whatever screen that you're on here within Codify, whether you're on your own dashboard, whether you're on a code details page, or whether you're in our brand new notepad, you can access Coding from any screen within Codify. You can also
Pop Coding out of the screen if you just need to get it out of the way, and bring it back anytime you would like to use it.
Now, before I get into showing you some of these prompts here for Cody, just want to take a quick moment to talk about a couple of new features here in our notepad. If you're a current Codify user, or maybe if you're not a Codify user, you might not know that this new feature exists.
This notepad feature here is going to allow you to have custom notes from all across the platform.
and be able to compile them with the ability to tag them, to embed codes, and new feature here, you can actually embed hyperlinks into your custom notes, too, to take you directly to pages that you would like to reference. Not only can you have your own personal notepad here, but you also have a shared notepad.
that you can share with the rest of your organization. Very handy if you have a large team, and you're trying to spread information or awareness across a large team. You can make your own custom notes and share your own personal notes from across the platform here in our brand new notepad.
So if you are a current Codify user, absolutely don't…
Miss checking this new feature out as well.
Now, as mentioned, Cody.
Cody is our brand new AI agent that utilizes AAPC content as its closed source, and provides a cited rationale with every answer.
It's going to allow coders to ask questions about codes, guidelines, CCI edits, LCD and CD policy in a more conversational style.
It has been designed by AAPC subject matter experts, and we have tested it against real-world scenarios rather than just generic medical text.
Now, when you open Coding, you'll notice that there is a disclaimer here at the bottom.
that tells you that you should not enter any PHI into Coding.
Coding is designed to be able to help you answer questions in a closed content format. However, it is not designed to be a computer-assisted Coding. Please do not copy and paste medical records into Coding. Coding will respond and let you know that it cannot answer that particular question.
So, just as a disclaimer there, you're not going to want to put PHI information. But the kind of questions you can ask Cody.
For example, if you're looking up… if you're looking for a code, I can ask Cody, what is the diagnosis code for a broken tailbone?
Now, Coding doesn't just give you
a response without telling you how that response was determined. So you'll see, as Cody's generating the response here, there's some information.
So Cody has indicated here at the bottom that the fracture of the Cossacks, is this S code right here for the initial counter for a closed fracture. If I scroll back up to the top, you're able to see how Cody determined that
that information. You can see the source right here at the top. You can click and see that they search for medical codes.
You can see the… the code details card here, with some information here regarding this particular CPT code, or ICD-10 code.
With any code first, excludes one, excludes 2, or 7th character notes here, if you need to review that information as well.
You'll also have access to the lay terms here.
Some clinical responsibility information regarding this particular code.
and some terminology alerts. You can even view the code directly on Codify by clicking this hyperlink.
This code will automatically open up in a separate window so that you always have access to your question window. So it will open up a code in a new window, or if you so chose, you could type it in here and view them side by side.
So now, I have the option for Cody that I can ask follow-up questions regarding this particular
code, so if, in the event that I didn't want the code for the initial encounter, I can ask Cody a follow-up question.
And continue this chat. So I can say, what would be the code for a subsequent encounter with routine healing?
So you'll see, again, Cody's going to generate the response here.
It's going to tell me how it got to where it got, and is going to respond and give me the code based on my input.
There we go. You'll see it picked up the coding card for that subsequent encounter here with routine healing, and all of that information that's associated with it as well, and it tells me that this is the correct diagnosis code to use for fracture of the Cossacks, subsequent encounter for fracture with routine healing.
No.
We also give you the opportunity here in Codify that if Cody didn't respond to you in the way that you'd expect it to respond, or if you really liked the way that it responded to you, you can provide us feedback.
positive or negative, right here at the bottom of the answer. This allows you to communicate with our team.
To let them know that, yes, Cody answered this question exactly how I want it to, exactly how I would have expected to, or no, maybe, maybe Cody didn't, and what could be improved? So you do have that option here to thumbs up and thumbs down to give positive or negative feedback based on your experience here with Cody.
You also have the ability, there's a little copy button right here if you want to copy and paste Cody's response into a document, or, for example, into your notepad and create a custom note, you could do that here as well by hitting this copy.
I didn't create note.
And pasting that note right here into your custom note.
Custom notes, as I mentioned earlier, you can also embed codes, and you can embed hyperlinks in these as well. Once you have your custom note created, you can also tag and categorize and share with the rest of your team as well. So you do have the opportunity right now to be able to save those custom notes to your notepad.
Coding is rolling out a feature for historical chats, where you'll be able to see your historical chats, and everything that you've asked Cody very, very shortly. That is a feature that is coming by popular demand here.
In the upcoming future.
Now, as I mentioned, you can continue to ask questions of Cody that are related to this particular topic, but if you're switching topics, so for example, if I was going to ask a completely new question.
I can say new chat, it's going to clear out the old chat, and give me the opportunity to start afresh with a brand new chat stream. So, for example.
if I wanted to… find out if I could code M54.14 with M79.2, Cody's gonna review my questions.
You can see Cody pulling the code details information and generating this response here at the bottom. Oh, and Cody tells me no, that there is an excludes one note that prevents me from reporting these two diagnosis codes together. So Cody will pick up and let you know if there's excludes one diagnosis codes and what they are.
when you utilize Coding for this purpose.
And again, you'll be able to see both of the code details cards for both of these codes, review those excludes 1 and 2, but Cody did let us know at the bottom that that excludes 1 is going to prevent us from reporting these two particular codes together.
Cody can also…
efficiently run CCI edit checks. So, if you're on a screen, and you want to ask Cody if you can code two particular CPT codes together, I can ask Cody if I can code 44950 and 47563 together.
Coding right now, again, is utilizing the tools that we already have built in here to codify to be able to answer these questions. You will see that reviewing these sources, generating the response, checking some guidelines…
Still generating that responses.
And it says, assuming Medicare, know that an NCCI edit is present, it is not bypassable, and these two codes may not be reported together. So again, you can run CCI edit checks in Codify, but you can also ask Cody those questions as well, and be able to not only see
The reference information and the code details, but you can also access
Modifier-specific crosswalks right here in the Code Details section as well.
You also would have the ability to do, again, any searches that you would like to do within Codify. They will work just fine. You can say 44950, for example. Reference that code and see the entire code details page for this code side-by-side with your question from Cody.
Let's try an example for an NCD policy.
So I'm gonna say new chat again.
Is there an NCD policy for 84443?
And again, Cody's generating this response. Oh, you can see that Cody did pull that NCD policy.
For thyroid testing?
It says… and told us, yes, that there… it is covered under 84443, there is an NCD policy, and it gives me that NCD policy here, and allows me to review any cross-reference information.
In addition to any indication and limitations of coverage, that I can expand and see even more information regarding this particular testing and the frequency
That might be… Required here for this particular code.
So, a lot of information. You can also view the coverage transmittal, and it will take you directly to the Medicare coverage database to refer to that information there as well. So it does not only give you the information and answer the question that you've asked, but it's going to give you the source for that information every time you ask a question in Coding.
All right, let's do a new example here, and let's try an LCD policy, because sometimes, coding needs additional information to be able to answer your question. So here, said, is there an LCD for CPT code 43775?
And as Cody's generating the response, you'll see that there is a question that has popped up at the bottom. It's letting me know that they need the actual zip code here. So, Cody needs follow-up information to be able to answer my question, so I'm just gonna pick
A… Random zip code here.
And what kind of claim? We'll say that it's a physician outpatient Part B.
Now, with that additional input information, Cody is going to pull that applicable LCD policy here for me.
It's going to give me the description, let me know how many diagnosis codes are covered, or maybe how many are excluded as well.
It's going to tell you any coverage guidance information with any medical necessity requirements.
is going to pull the CMS coverage policy.
And again, a direct link to that source document, it's telling me that, yes, that there is a coding article associated with this in my particular zip code.
And again, I can review that source document right here. It's gonna launch me directly into the Medicare coverage database, already hyperlinked to that policy, so that I can review the entire policy at my leisure.
And any additional information that I might need to see.
So Cody is going to link you directly to that source of the information as well.
And it's going to open it in a new tab, again, so that you always have access to the tab that you questioned.
So, what other tools are built into Coding that you can leverage at this point?
We do have the E&M calculator built into Coding as well. So, for example, if I were to ask a question about critical care, so what CPT code would I use for 75 minutes of critical care?
you'll see that Cody, as generating this response, is going to
launch our E&M calculator. You can see right here that Cody
when you come up to the top, based on that clinically documented… documented cleric time, those final codes are going to be 22921 and 22922. I get both the description code.
For those… for that code and the add-on, letting me know that 75 minutes of critical care would be covered with
those two codes. I can also scroll back to the top.
And if you'll notice, I can also change the date of service here. So if I meant to check this for a date of service in the past to make sure that that was the correct guidance for that date of service, it automatically will assume today's date of service. But you can edit that date if you need to.
And make sure that that still applies.
If that date of service was a month ago.
And I can go ahead.
And done.
And… There we go.
So Coding will, again, leverage our medical decision-making calculator for you to be able to determine, based on, in this case, time.
What that level of service is.
Coding can go a step beyond just leveraging the tools within Codify as well. I want to point out, they can also help you read and understand some of the guidelines. So, for example, if you have a question about
What documentation requirements would be required to report a modifier 26 with a 73502?
You can ask Cody. Cody's gonna go pull that relevant guideline and let you know what those documentation requirements are.
Now, as mentioned, Cody is currently
optimized for our professional fee license. It has all of the… the…
tools and the crosswalks and that pertinent information all built in. We are expanding Coding to be able to provide information that is associated with our complete license as well.
As of now, by Q4, we expect that we will be able to have APC and DRG information in here as well.
But as… as of now, it is optimized for our pro-fee license.
So, you'll see here, as I was talking, Cody did
Give me an answer here, and let me know that
If I'm billing a 26 modifier, that's the professional component, and then I require a separate, distinctly identifiable professional interpretation with a signed and written report in order to be able to bill that 26 modifier with this. It also confirms that that is a valid modifier for this particular procedure code, all with the same step.
And again, I can ask additional follow-up questions, or…
I can ask a new question.
and start an entire new text stream. So Coding is here and available for you to be able to quickly reference and ask questions, whether it be about CCI edits, LCD policy, NCD policy, coding guidelines, sequencing guidelines as well. A good example here
On the sequencing guidelines, Let me go ahead and say new chat.
So, what are the sequencing guidelines for code B20?
So here, Cody's actually gonna go pull the guidelines.
for 2026.
You'll see the source here, you'll see the code tags.
Here at the bottom, still generating that response, still pulling in some information.
I did pull in that particular, ICD-10 code with some code first, excludes one, includes, use additional code notes.
I can also view these codes on Codify.
And Cody's still generating my response here.
There we go.
There we go. So here at the bottom, Cody has pulled the coding guidelines that are specific to B20.
Not only has it pulled the coding guidelines, but it's also giving me the references of exactly where it's found in the ICD-10 guidelines, so in the event that I want to go review those guidelines myself, I have that article reference here, so that I can reference exactly where it is.
in the guidelines for me to be able to determine any sequencing information regarding this particular ICD-10 code.
So…
In closing, just wanted to mention that Cody is here as an available tool to help you be able to
ask and understand complex coding scenarios and policies, and help to understand the content of those policies. If you're pulling up an LCD, you can ask about frequency.
And Cody will give you information regarding frequency in that policy. So it's not just a matter of pulling the policy, it's a matter of being able to ask questions about that individual policy while you're there, and have those cited guidelines as well.
Right.
Now, as mentioned, you can, Cody is available.
As an add-on, I will let our team provide some information on how you can access Coding for your individual use.
Wanted to ask, are there any questions in the chat that you would like me to answer from anybody on my team?
I've not been monitoring.
Yeah, definitely. There was a few questions around purchasing Coding, so I just wanted to reiterate some of that real quick. So for new organizations purchasing Codify, yes, it will be included.
For, existing individual and organization customers, it is an add-on, and we've dropped those links into the chat, and we can do that again as well.
I also just want to reiterate that, for an individual purchasing Coding, that is a $60
add-on. And for organizations where there's, you know, a higher volume than one, there is tiered pricing where with each, with additional members of your team who'll be using Coding, it is at an increasingly discounted rate.
Okay, and then just, I know Heather mentioned it, but I saw a couple comments coming in, where she mentioned, you know, right now, the data that we're referencing is strictly to pro-fee information, but our team is actively working on expanding the toolset in Q4 to include facility and AST use cases.
And that will be supported with our UB04 scrubber, the MSDRG grouper, and OPPS and CCI Edit Checkers, so that will be upcoming as well. And then there was a couple questions about coding clinics and ICD-10
Or, sorry, ICD-10 Coding clinics and CPT assistant. So, right now, article content is not fully integrated into Coding, though our team is planning on enabling those questions around the Coding clinic and assistant.
And our Revenue Cycle Insider content in the future as well. So, like we mentioned, you know, this is just a new launch to Coding, just a few weeks ago, so always going to continue to grow into that. And just like with Codify, anything that is updated on an annually and quarterly basis.
those updates will reflect within the Coding content and resources as well.
Okay.
I think that's it from, at least, oh, looks like there might be a…
Couple more questions here, give me one moment.
And, again, yeah, if there's any questions from, you know, adding it on, if you have a corporate max, access, reach out to your rep, they can get that, added or discussed with you, through getting Coding added onto your platforms.
And…
Last question that just came in. The price, with the new Coding is, you know, it's $60 annually. There is a monthly option as well for that add-on if you're an individual user.
And yes, there will be a recording for this.
demonstration sent to your email since you registered for this, so take a peek at that once it's configured on our backend side. It will be sent automatically to your email.
I see a few questions around transcripts and video recordings. The answer to that is yes, we will send out an email
That has both the transcript and a recording of the video. This will also live, on our website after, today, so you can access it at any time.
I also see a question around someone that renews in December, asking about how that payment works out. That can be applied early and prorated. I would encourage you, I believe this is Lisa Rodriguez, I would encourage you to, contact your account manager, and they would, I'm sure, be very happy to get this set up for you in advance.
I see another question, which is, can Coding respond to questions on specific drug codes and DME codes?
Cody can find, current HCSPICS codes now. As far as DME, I do believe so. Trevor, is there anything that would prevent any DME codes from being used with Cody? I'm gonna actually ask for what a HXPICS code for Xiaflex is.
Show you what that response would look like.
Yeah, I don't believe that there would be anything blocking that, but it's a good thing to validate and test.
So here you'll see that Cody did pull up a HICSPICS code, that JOS775, for Zyaflex. I can access that coding card.
and any of the lay terms and information, and directly link to that particular code details page for additional information, should I need additional information, such as NDC and drug, or things of that nature regarding, this particular code.
So, it will find drugs here as well.
I'm looking at the questions now…
Can Coding flag when a diagnosis code may affect each other, such as G31.1 and F3? So, it will pick up excludes one diagnosis codes and things of that nature.
If there is an excludes one, rule between those two particular codes, it will pick up that those two codes may not be reported together.
Great question.
I'm not seeing any other questions in the chat regarding, things that Cody can do.
Do you need to be a coder to better understand Coding?
That's a great question. I would… I would argue that Cody can make things more understandable, whether you're a coder or not. Cody can explain, things in a more layman's terms.
Coding does leverage our lay terms on our code details page, so it's quite possible that Cody could make something a little bit more understandable, whether someone's a coder or whether they're not necessarily a coder. I think Coding really lends itself to
To working with a wider audience, because its ability to explain things in lay terms, as well as the technical terms as well.
And again, seeing a lot of questions about whether Coding's working with PCS, DRGs, and etc. It absolutely will be by Q4, is the goal. That is something that we are integrating into Coding as of right now.
It will work with all of the code sets in the professional fee license, your CPT, HICSPICS, ICD-10, etc. Those PCS codes and anything else will be available here very shortly.
And Heather, the PCS codes will actually work right now, but the tools leveraging some of those codes, as you've mentioned previously, the MSDRG grouper, the UB04 scrubber, the OPPS NCCI Edit Checker, those are the tools that are not yet integrated.
So you can use it for code lookup for PCS, just not the more advanced tools right now. Correct. But those are coming, too.
And then there is one question, I've seen a couple, come through. Can you have Code… can you have Coding without having a subscription to Codify? So, not at this time. You do need to have Codify in order to access Coding.
The product team is, in the future, looking at a separate product offering and integration option, but where the domain lives currently is within your Codify license.
Let's see a question, does Coding help with diagnosis pointers? Coding can help you with sequencing, guidelines for some codes. It is not going to automatically, necessarily, sequence codes for you, but it will let you know if you have any code first, code additional.
Code also, those kind of notes, related to a particular, set or set of diagnosis codes.
And then, Heather, one more kind of question similar, well, along, you know, clarifying questions. Can Cody help clarify how to bill, incident to visits? Is that something, that type of question?
So, incident 2 visits, Cody will, based on our E&M calculator, I do believe it will ask you
Let's see… It will tell you what requirements are to, bill incident, too.
So, what it's gonna do is Cody is now going to pull those evaluation and management guidelines.
And give you some information on the requirements for billing incident 2.
you're obviously not going to want to put a record into here and let… and have Cody assess whether your note…
is, is appropriate for that, but we'll give you the answers that you seek regarding what the guidelines for Incident 2 billing. It will give you,
It'll pull the full CMS guidance here on Medicare Incident 2 requirements, including direct supervision and things of that nature, so I can say yes to this particular question and follow up the chat.
And Cody will give me that information, as mentioned above.
There we go, still generating that response.
So you can ask Cody questions about Incident 2 and what documentation elements might be required, because those are in the guidelines. Cody's going to pull that information from the guidelines and feed that out to you. So it will, give you that kind of information, give you those E&M guidelines. Again, you can view it on Codify, and pull up the full version of the guidelines and read through the page here as well. So it's going to link you to that source.
Just like it would with any other question that it asks. So, great question.
Alright.
Let's see…
Johnny, there was one question in here, will we be doing any future…
Webinars highlighting Coding so they can have some coworkers.
attend as well. I know we probably don't have it on our roadmap yet, but something that we're working on on a quarterly basis.
Yes, we will have at least one more Codify and Coding webinar this year. Everyone that's attended this webinar today will certainly be getting an invite to that as well.
And I see a question. If we type surgery patient, will it provide CPT codes? Yes, it will provide CPT codes based on your search parameters. You can use clinical phrases, acronyms, abbreviations, things of that nature. Coding does handle abbreviations, acronyms, and clinical phrases.
And we'll look for CPT codes for you.
So I could say, for example, what CPT code for a lap Cly.
with cholangiogram.
So you'll notice there that I obviously used an abbreviation.
Calling it a coli instead of a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. You'll see that Cody understood what I was meaning. Not only that, found the code that I'm supposed to use, giving me all of that information for the notes and the range, any modifiers, and lets me know that 47563 is the correct code for that particular
There.
So, great question. Yes, it will help you find CPT codes as well.
I see another question… oh, sorry.
No, it's okay.
You're good.
Why isn't a reference?
HIPAA?
Johnny, were you going to reference the HIPAA information?
Oh, no, I just saw a question, this is a fast one, if there's a free trial associated with, Coding, similarly to how we have a free trial for Codify, that is not the case. Right now, there's not a free trial associated with Coding.
Okay, and then HIPAA data, yes, so, like, even where Heather mentioned at the very beginning, you know, you're not going to be plugging in your full medical record. Coding does have guide rails up there to tell, you know, it will… it will kick back saying that it's… it's not going to assist, so any HIPAA-related information is going to stay compliant, and has
I was positive feedback on that.
One question, Heather, with NDC information, with J medication codes, can it calculate the unit of measure?
it will give you the information referenced, for NDCs, but it's not going to calculate the unit of measure. It will tell me… tell you how many, with the NDC in 542 format, with the bill units and the
With the bill units, but it's not going to calculate the NDC unit of measure for you.
That would be based on your documentation.
Awesome, thank you.
I see another question. Can it also alert you when you have a code first and code also note with another DX code?
Yes, it will let you know when it does pull up the information on a diagnosis code. You will get the code first, and code also notes right here in the code, so that you make sure that you're capturing those extra codes that are required to be reported with that particular code that you were referencing.
So that was that good question.
From Deborah.
There we go.
Awesome questions, everyone. I'm still filtering through them, so…
Oh!
Not a good question for…
SUSAN right at the bottom, that says, is there any difference between using Coding than using companies' AI programs such as Copilot? Yes, there absolutely is a difference. Copilot uses any and all information that Copilot has.
Coding is based on AAPC's closed source content, so if Cody doesn't know an answer, Cody isn't going to hallucinate a response to you, or fill in the gaps, and… and assume information that you can't safely assume in the coding world.
We all know that we're regulated by rules and guidelines and policies, and Coding takes those into effect versus
co-pilot, which has access to
All kinds of different information, to be able to formulate a response, and sometimes generate a response
that is really convincing, but not necessarily accurate. So, the distinct advantage here to Coding is that you are using AAPC's 38 years of internal content in order to be able to source the answers for your questions.
Just kind of scrolling here.
There's one here, does it help with giving Medicare's guidelines on how a code
Should be billed and the modifiers needed.
So it does… it's able to pull all of that data from our code details page, as well as it's integrated with our NCCI edit checkers and 1500 scrubbers. All of those different tools provide that different level of guidance, depending on if you're talking about
A single or multiple procedural diagnosis codes, or you just want to pull information straight from the code detail page as well.
Let's see…
I see another question around, is there a charge for Codify and Coding together, or do you just pay for Coding? That just depends. If you already have Codify, you can just purchase the add-on and add that to your license.
If you do not yet have Codify, you'll need to purchase both of those together.
Great questions today.
None.
I see. A follow-up to that with, 3 money signs. So, Cody is, $60 annually.
To purchase as an add-on as an individual.
If you are a part of an organization, if you're a decision maker and you'd like to bring this to your entire team, there are discounted rates based on volume.
I love that someone said they use Claude, but verify their findings instead of codify.
That's wonderful. Thank you for doing that. The great thing about Coding is that all the information it provides is already sourced from Codify.
And, you know, this is a big question right now, as a lot of people have.
these other LLMs or generative AI solutions that they're paying
$20 a month for, for the purpose of medical coding. And so we tried to remove one of those barriers for you all by providing a native solution at a lower price point, knowing that it has a more targeted scope.
Trevor, I'm gonna direct this question at you, just to clarify, if we are on a corporate account.
Are we able to purchase Coding for ourselves individually?
If you're in a corporate account, everything would have to go through the corporate…
contract, I believe, that you've already signed.
So, you'd need to do an addendum to the contract to get Coding added on into that account level.
only the owner of the account within Codify can make changes, so individuals are kind of at the whim of the larger organization.
And I would just also add to that, if you're in a position where you can, you know, bring this to your manager, our team would be happy to meet with you, to do a personalized demo, to bring this to your organization broadly, and, you know, really show the value that Coding can deliver.
Yeah, I have someone who's mentioned that they just purchased Coding and it's not showing up. Please let me know directly on that, I'll double check for you. It may just take a moment for that to activate within your subscription, but if there are any problems, please reach out, or send a note in, and I'll make sure to follow up with all of you on that.
I think we're slowing down here on questions, maybe we'll just see if we have a couple more before we, wrap up today's webinar.
There's one, is CPT Clinical Assistant included in Codify or Coding? It is included in Codify. We have…
an add-on for the CPT assistant by the AMA, as well as their, advanced Coding pack, which includes their vignettes and their knowledge base inside of Codify.
Coding is not yet integrated into all of our article content, but that is on our near-term roadmap. So, in the future, if you have access to CPT Assistant, AHA, Coding Clinic.
Vignettes, knowledge base, anything like that, it will be able to answer those questions if you have the appropriate permissions, from
those different add-on purchases. Those are partners that we have with the AMA and the AHA, so we cannot expose their data openly without you already having a subscription to those tools, which can be purchased from AAPC.com slash codes slash add-ons.
I'm also seeing, a question around being on a corporate account but paying for Coding as an add-on.
Individually. I've taken note of your name. I'm gonna make sure that we can connect you with the right person right after this webinar to make sure that things work the way that they should.
I think as we're kind of wrapping up questions here, I just want to say thank you again, for everyone for joining today's webinar. Just to reiterate some of the finer points that we covered as far as actually using Coding.
Coding is an add-on.
If you're an individual, and you do not have Codify yet, you will need to purchase a ProFeed license
and add Cody to that subscription, at checkout.
Coding is $60 for individuals. For organizations, for net new organizations.
Coding will be added on. If you are renewing, we will also be adding, Codify, excuse me, Cody to your account.
And we do offer bulk pricing in instances where, you know, you have a higher volume than one, there will be discounted rates.
If you are an existing organization that uses Codify, and you'd like to bring Coding to your subscription.
Please reach out to your account manager, and if you're not sure who that is either, you can also, submit a form on our website, and we'll be right in touch with you.
So I'm just gonna say to my team, unless you're seeing any last questions rolling through, I think we'll end today's webinar.
I'll just say, if we didn't answer, some of your questions that came through, or you have some more unique, specific use cases within your… your company or organization, or just everyday life within, Coding Codify, please reach out to us, and we can do an individual demo with you as well.
Definitely. As you log out from today's webinar, there will be a post-webinar survey, one of them being, your questions of if you'd like to learn more, if you'd like to have a demo to your organization.
Please respond to that, and we'll be in touch with you.
So I'd just like to say thanks for taking time out of your day to join us and talk about Coding and Codify.

See what Codie can do for you or your team.
