Certified Gastroenterology Coder (CGIC™) Preparation Training Course

Students of the online Gastroenterology Coding Course will review diagnoses, surgical procedures, and evaluation management coding specific to gastroenterology — and gain the knowledge and experience to prepare for the certification exam.

While no other credential is needed to attain the Certified Gastroenterology Coder (CGIC) credential, this online course is recommended for those who have at least two years of experience in gastroenterology coding.

  • Common procedures performed in gastroenterology.
  • Discuss the most missed concepts on the CGIC certification exam.
  • Practice test that mimics the format and structure of the CGIC certification exam.

  • Interactive lectures with exercises.
  • Practice test with operative cases totaling 35 multiple choice questions.

Additional Information

  • Prerequisites: At least two years of experience in gastroenterology coding. Not meant for individuals with little, limited, or no coding experience.
  • Time requirement: 4 hours.
  • Approved for 4 CEUs upon successful completion of the course. Valid towards CPC®, CPB™, CPMA®, CPPM®, and specialty credentials except CIRCC® (one-time use only).
  • Training Availability: Access available for one year from purchase date.

  • An overall score of 70% or higher is required to pass the certification exam.
