Hello, everyone. And welcome to my work from home office. Come on in and I'll show you around.
So here is my office. I've been working from home since March of twenty twenty, as a lot of you might have as well.
One of my first things when I was sent home — I was working on a folding table and a laptop — and it was really difficult to. Especially since I work in compliance, I have to have spreadsheets and policies and lots of paperwork. So, upgrading to these thirty-two inches curved monitors was a must for me.
And it really has made my work a lot easier. I can split my screen, by looking at four documents at once. So I can split it against the two monitors. I can also look at spreadsheets and not just have to look at this much spreadsheet, but I can actually get to see a whole larger amount of spreadsheet. So that was definitely a big upgrade, two monitors that I love. Number two that I got was my Autonomous Desk, and it's a sit stand desk which I love. I ordered it in November, so a few months later.
It's a fifty three by twenty nine inches bamboo top, and the one good thing about it is I can obviously sit when I want to sit, stand when I want to stand. If I'm giving presentations and I'm gesturing, I like to stand up, I like to be dynamic, rather than just sitting and especially during my Zoom calls. So, this has been a really great, great addition to my work from home office. And I if you're looking for a desk, find one that you can sit and stand and you need the versatility, especially when you're working from home for that many hours.
Then my husband made me this great monitor stand, which I absolutely love because as many of you know, you work at home if you work in offices, you have your monitors on paper. And we we tend to do that. We have like stacks of paper to be able to raise it and have the right height, right ergonomically. We wanna have it raised up.
So he made me this and I can put my laptop underneath, which I love. And I can also have these nice little storage cubbies and everything that I can put everything under. So that's been a really awesome, addition as well.
I have a docking station as most people that are working from home with their laptops, they have to dock in so that they can, either do a VPN or however they're going to get through.
I also do a keyboard. A lot of people do wireless keyboards. I'm I still have the wired. I tend to sometimes with the wireless I think it disconnects, so I like to be wired.
But I love my rollover mouse. I've had this for years. I had some tendonitis issues and the rollover mouse — it's the rollover mouse pro two. Like I said, I've had it for many years, but I had tendonitis in both my arms from mousing too much. So if you're constantly grabbing and that constant pressure was again not great, not ergonomically for me.
So this gives me the option that I can just keep everything stable and when I'm sitting here at my desk and I'm typing and I'm mousing, I'm not having to move around or reach or causing ergonomic issues. And plus, if I'm using my keypad a lot, it keeps everything right here where I need it to be. I had it obviously at my work and I brought it home because it was really, something that I needed to have here.
And so, if you look over here, this is my chair. Again, everybody has to have a really good chair, but I also recommend having a really good seat cushion. One that you can, you know, you can use, you order online or something, you know, something that's going to give you some cushion for you tush because if you're going to be sitting for any amount a day you don't want to put too much pressure on your spine. So all about making sure that I'm going to be comfortable and ergonomically correct.
And I also have a footrest down here, and I have this padded standing mat. So when I'm standing for long periods of times, I'm gonna have to make sure that padded mat is right under my desk, so that I am not, putting again too much pressure on my feet. So that's been a great, option as well. Now, everybody that's working from home, I'm sure you've gotta have some sort of coffee warmer.
I have to have mine. So, in the morning times, a lot of times I'm sitting here, my coffee will get cold because I am not paying attention to it. So coffee warmers are a must. It does make my life a little easier that I don't have to run downstairs and warm it up every five seconds.
I can have it right nice and warm right here where I need it to be. Also over here, I have a book stand. So if I'm in the middle of needing my CPT® code book, and I need to bring it over here. Right now, as you can see, I'm studying for the compliance, the CPCO (Certified Professional Compliance Officer), so I have everything tabbed out appropriately that I need for my exam and for studying.
So I like to have that right here along with my planner and this is all in a nice — again, just ordered on Amazon. One of those things that you can have for your book stands. And especially, if you come over to this side of my room.
I'm just gonna swing this here. This is where I keep all my CPT® codebooks. Yeah, I'm old school. I like to have my codebooks.
I also look online but I like to have my codebooks so that if I have to reference something I make sure that I can go and grab them and have it right handy. Now little fun fact, zip tying your codebooks will prevent them from unraveling so I recommend if you have a couple zip ties get those, get them zipped up. Now as you can see, I didn't tab these ones. I had tabs, the years prior but, but I haven't done my twenty twenty two yet.
So they're here if I need them. That's been really, you know, like I have it right here, right at my disposal if I need it. And of course, I have to have all of my certificates displayed. Everybody, you know, when I'm doing my Zoom calls or if I'm having, any kind of Teams meetings, I like to have my these are all of the, important certifications that I spent a lot of my time and energy on and to learn.
So I do want to I want to have them displayed and you should too. So, especially in your home office. And this is like my inspiration wall over here. So things that of course, you know, wine makes me happy, you know, stop witching, start dooming, you've got this.
Today will be awesome. So it's kind of like my inspiration when I'm feeling down or if I'm getting a little frustrated I can go look at this wall and just be happy. And of course, you know, my pictures of my families and my photos and of course my pets. You gotta have pictures of your pets.
And, and my last thing that I wanted to show you in my office is come over here and you can see there's a dog bed over here and you can — come on, doc. Come here.
And here he comes. And this is my-work from-home pet. This is Doc Holliday and he works with me every day and he keeps me sane and everybody needs to have somebody that they can they can rely on. So I hope you enjoyed, your little tour into my coater's crib and have a great day. Bye.
