What is a Certified Ophthalmology Coder?

The COPC credential validates a medical coder’s advanced expertise in ophthalmology coding. This certification is designed for professional coders working in ophthalmology practices, multispecialty groups, ambulatory surgical centers, and hospitals. COPC-certified coders are equipped to ensure accurate reimbursement, reduce compliance risk, and navigate the unique complexities of ophthalmology services, from routine eye exams to advanced microsurgical procedures.
