Training Objectives

  • Review common ophthalmology diagnosis codes and conditions.
  • Review CPT® and CMS E/M guidelines.
  • Common procedures performed in ophthalmology.
  • Discuss the most missed concepts on the COPC certification exam.
  • Practice test that mimics the format and structure of the COPC certification exam.

Training Content

  • Interactive lectures with exercises.
  • Practice test with operative cases totaling 35 multiple choice questions.

Additional Information

  • At least two years of experience in ophthalmology coding. While no previous coding credential is required to attain the COPC credential, this training is not meant for individuals with little, limited, or no coding experience
  • Time requirement: 4 hours, not including additional study time
  • Approved for 4 CEUs upon successful completion towards CPC®, CPB™, CPMA®, CPPM®, and specialty credentials except CIRCC® (one-time use only)

Passing & Certification

  • Must have current AAPC membership
  • An overall score of 70% or higher is required to pass the certification exam.

This online course must be completed within a 1-year period or less from date of purchase. Additional time extensions may be purchased for a monthly fee. Date of purchase is considered your course start date. After your order is processed, you will receive email instruction on course access.
