The indications for procedure states: "foreign body in the airway noticed at the subglottis on CXR." The doctor did a direct laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, injection laryngoplasty of laryngeal cleft, bilateral tympanostomy with tubes. For both the DLB and the esophagoscopy portion, the report states that no foreign body was found. Can I still code the esophagoscopy and DLB for the foreign body since there originally was a foreign body and would I still use the ICD 10 code for airway foreign body? Or should I use a modifier or not code it at all?
