I have private payers (specifically BCBS) denying my global OB billing when the start DOS is during ICD 9 and the delivery date is after ICD 10. First they denied saying that I should use and ICD 9 code (they're using the start date (FEB 2015) as the DOS, which, in my opinion, is incorrect. The DOS is the delivery date (Oct 2015) and should be coded w/ICD 10. Now, they are denying, saying they want itemized billing, but won't tell me any details. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

global fee should be billed with the data of services of the delivery not a date range. So if delivery is in 10/2015 or later it should be coded in ICD-10-CM. My only guess is they are suspicious about something or want to clarify something
