Does anyone know Tricare's guidelines for coverage of a wellness lipid panel? I am seeing several claim denials in regards to the patient's age. The only thing I can find on their site is this "TRICARE covers age specific, periodic lipid panels as recommended by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute." When I go to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute website, I am unable to find anything that is helpful. I have even emailed them several times, and as with most insurance companies, they dont really give a straightforward response. It would be nice to find a chart.

I know this is way late, but I have ran into the same issue. I found the following on a Tricare website.

– TRICARE covers age specific, periodic lipid panels as recommended by
the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The current
recommendation is once every five years in adults age 20 and over.

Hope this is helpful to someone.
