MACRA Calculator Tool to Compute MIPS Score

Our MACRA calculator uses a "unified scoring system" for MIPS. This tool measures performance in each Performance Category in points, allowing for partial credit. For example, clinicians submitting 3 out of 6 required quality measures can receive credit for the 3 submitted.

Please note the following:
  • Practices tracking performance within MIPS can use this tool to help calculate a FINAL MIPS Score.
  • Each Performance Category is assigned a weighted value to be compared with the points earned by the provider.

This sheet is for MIPS reporting eligible clinicians except:

Patient Centered Medical Homes, Medical Home Models, or similar specialty practices in MIPS APMS are scored differently. Groups of 16 or more are also scored differently if they see 20 cases that fall into the All-Cause Hospital Readmission Quality Performance Measure.

All-Cause Hospital Readmission

Practices with 16+ providers and at least 200 eligible cases are included in the additional measure for All-Cause Hospital Readmissions. This is a measure that CMS will calculate from claims data and will score in the same way as the other quality measures from 3-10 points. The maximum then increases from 60 Quality Measure points to 70 Quality Measure points for the providers that have a score for this additional measure.
